How do I find sellers with workshops and webinars as a Shopspotter?
In your own workshop or webinar on selling digital products, you show people how to build and sell an offer. You show Merchavio in the technical part, matter-of-factly and with real features only. Right at the start you say that the workshop contains advertising, your link appears labelled on the last slide, and emails with a recommendation go only to participants who have consented.
Why do workshops suit Shopspotting?
Workshop participants set time aside and bring specific questions. In an hour or two, you can show far more than in a post, and they ask right away. Coaches find more ideas in Shopspotting for coaches and consultants.
You can charge a fee for the workshop itself. It is your own fee and the same for everyone. The commission is separate: if someone signs up through your link and then pays Merchavio as a seller, you receive 25% of each of their sales fees and 25% of their monthly subscription, net.
How do you structure the workshop?
A clear topic
Such as “Sell your first online course”. The title promises what you will show, not an income.
Clarify the offer
What do participants sell, to whom, at what price, one-off or as a subscription? This helps everyone, including those not yet looking for a system.
Sales page and buyer journey
How a sales page is built and the path a buyer takes from the click to access.
The technology
What a system needs to do for this, shown with Merchavio.
Questions
Allow enough time; questions show where participants stand.
How do you show Merchavio in the technical part?
As a demonstration, not a sales pitch, and with real features only, as they appear on merchavio.com: a course with modules and lessons, checkout with a one-off payment or subscription, access for buyers, and money going straight into the seller’s own Stripe account.
- If you sell with Merchavio yourself, show your own shop and say it is your own experience.
- If you show a seller’s shop, ask them first. Details from your Shopspotter area never go on a slide.
- If you don’t have a shop, describe features as they appear on merchavio.com; see also Shopspotting without a shop of your own.
- Say what Merchavio isn’t made for. It makes your recommendation credible.
How do you label the ad in a workshop?
With the word “Ad” or “Advertisement”, in the language of the workshop and large enough to read on a phone. “Partner link” or an asterisk without explanation is not enough on its own.
- In the invitation: if it mentions Merchavio or says you will show a system, add that the workshop contains advertising for Merchavio.
- At the start: right after the welcome, said out loud and on a slide: “Ad: in this workshop I show Merchavio. I’m a Shopspotter and receive a commission if you use Merchavio through my link.”
- Right next to the link: the slide with the link says “Ad” beside it, and so do the chat and every email that contains the link.
- In recordings: the label from the start stays in, and wherever you share the recording, “Ad” goes next to the link. Give prices with a date, such as “Merchavio’s Growth plan: €49 a month net, as of October 2026”.
Where does the link go?
On the last slide, once the questions are answered, and in the chat for webinars. Use the short link from your Shopspotter area and show it large enough to type from the slide. In written materials, the referral link works too, with “Ad” next to it.
Don’t tie perks to signing up through your link, such as “Everyone who signs up through my link gets the slides”, “… pays no workshop fee” or “… gets free setup”. That requires Merchavio’s prior consent in text form. Slides, recording and fee are the same for everyone, and there is no room for false urgency such as “today only”.
Follow-up emails only with consent
Signing up for a workshop is not consent to advertising by email, and the partner terms forbid emails without prior consent. In practice:
- At registration, ask separately whether people want recommendations by email after the workshop.
- Only write to those who agreed, and label the recommendation right next to the link.
- Everyone else gets no recommendation from you by email, including in any materials you send them.
For an example of a labelled recommendation in an email, see how to recommend Merchavio in your newsletter.
How do you work with hosts?
If a network, association or coworking space invites you, agree on a few things:
- Tell the host beforehand that you are a Shopspotter and that Merchavio comes up as advertising. If they don’t allow recommendations, leave them out.
- If the host’s announcement mentions Merchavio, the label belongs there too.
- Don’t use the host’s participant list for your own emails: third-party address lists are forbidden.
- Appear as yourself, not as an “official Merchavio workshop”.
Your next step
Outline your first workshop and mark where the system comes up. For explaining Merchavio in a few sentences, read how to recommend Merchavio well; for helping participants with the setup afterwards for a fee, read supporting your sellers.
