What do the Shopspotting terms mean?
In short
The Shopspotting terms describe how you earn commission as a Shopspotter, how sellers are attributed to you and how payouts work. The most important one is commission: with Merchavio, 25% of every sales fee your sellers pay plus 25% of their subscription on top, net. Below are all the terms from A to Z, each in a few sentences.
Terms from A to C
- Attribution
- The tie between you and a seller who signs up through your link. At Merchavio, the last link used within 90 days counts. See how the Shopspotter link works.
- Cancellation
- You can end your participation at any time without notice, in your Shopspotter area or by email. Merchavio pays out earned commission that has not been reversed after the hold period without a request, even below the minimum; later payments create none. See how to cancel Shopspotting.
- Commission
- What you earn as a Shopspotter: at Merchavio 25% of every sales fee your sellers pay plus 25% of their subscription, both net. The subscription share works like a classic referral commission. Examples: how much a Shopspotter earns.
- Conversion
- The number of sellers you referred as a percentage of your clicks over the last 30 days, a rough guide. Your Shopspotter area shows it next to your clicks, see what the area shows.
- Cookie consent
- A visitor’s permission for their browser to store your link. With it, your link counts for up to 90 days; without it, only in the same visit without reloading the page.
- Credit note
- The self-billing credit note Merchavio creates for every payout, as a PDF by email, with its number shown next to the payout in your area. You write no invoices and can object within 30 days.
Terms from F to N
- Fee on every sale
- The revenue-based fee a seller pays Merchavio on every sale: 1.2% to 1.9% of the price plus €0.25, depending on the plan. At Merchavio you get 25% of this fee, not a share of the revenue itself, so your commission grows as your sellers sell more. See how the commission is calculated.
- Grandfathering
- If Merchavio changes commission rates or terms, this only applies to sellers referred afterwards; sellers already referred keep the conditions promised. See what happens if the partner terms change.
- Hold period
- At Merchavio, commission becomes available at the earliest 30 days after the end of the month it arose in.
- Labelling
- Required for every ad for Merchavio: “Ad” or “Advertisement” next to your link or at the start of a post, video or stream. An asterisk or “partner link” alone won’t do, see what is allowed.
- Merchavio
- The platform for selling digital products that introduced Shopspotting and runs this site, with shop, courses, communities, livestreams and checkout in one system, see what Shopspotters recommend.
- Net amount
- What a seller actually pays Merchavio, after discounts and without the VAT shown on it: the basis of your commission.
Terms from P to R
- Partner terms
- The binding rules for Shopspotting, which you confirm at signup. Full text: partner terms on merchavio.com.
- Payout
- How your commission reaches you, via PayPal or SEPA transfer to your payout destination. At Merchavio, you request it with the “Request payout” button once at least €50 is available, see when commission is paid out.
- Plan
- A seller’s monthly subscription. At Merchavio: Starter, Growth, Scale or Plus, €19 to €499 net (as of October 2026). You get 25% of it on top, €4.75 to €124.75 per seller per month.
- Referral link
- The full version of your Shopspotter link, for articles, newsletters and video descriptions, copied in your area with one click.
- Reversal
- If a seller’s payment to Merchavio is refunded, charged back or fails, the commission on it is reversed, offset or reclaimed if needed. See what happens if a seller cancels.
